Lyrics:
Why are there so many films on the Oscars
But few songs about them are tried?
Oscars are statues of a man that is naked
And stands on a film reel with pride
He’s made of gold, and some choose to receive it
Their speeches are long, wait and see.
It’s cuz they got an Award Nomination,
But I only want to emcee.
Who said in order to get nominated
That you had to be a star?
Somebody thought of that,
And didn’t believe it,
And indie film’s taken them far.
Now they are seen as great talent trailblazing
While they act on film and teevee.
Someday they’ll get that Award Nomination,
And that year I hope to emcee!
I’d joke about Kristen Bell,
And how sloth anxiety’s tragic.
Did you hear Meryl Streep
And her British voices?
I bet that skill earned her some fame!
The host Billy Crystal lambasted the actors
I thought that his medley was lame!
So were the bad jokes he told right before it
Next year I hope that we’ll see
That somebody better gets an invitation
I’m hoping that someone is me!
