The upright bass and the strings work really well together. They're very complimentary
The snare drum, at least for the first half, needs some tweaking to really fit into this mix. maybe EQ, maybe some effects. The blankety kick drum and hi-hat seems to work better.
The deep kick and transitional sound work well to bridge the two parts. nice job. Once things kick, I think you could you some fills, or just a bit of variation in your drums. They don't "sound", like programmed drums, but they're programmed like programmed drums, if you know what I mean.
The distorted sounds is very cool. I wouldn't mind hearing it double tracked (slightly different sounds with minute differences in each ear, simulating what one guitar player would sound like paying the same part twice. Different than just copy and pasting the part, right? ) That would make that part just huge.
the lead part sounds cool too. Maybe just a bit more reverb or delay or something to make it part of the song.
the transition back is a bit jumpy but it works.
I like the two contradictory parts, (slower melodic and heavier driving part) Good and evil, maybe?
