mschoenitz I love how you have the talking in the beginning- it almost sets the tone of the song before it even begins. I like the mix a lot but at about 2 minutes, im looking for a little change or something special.almost 4 years ago

music2kelly Nice use of panning. You have a nice close capture of the guitar, I like the fact that you can hear the fingers on the string. The chorus is big in contrast to the verses. You got a huge sound from two voices and guitar :) Just to be picky for a moment, you can hear movement after the last note and it kinda kills the moment. As a side note a shaker added in the middle of the song could on the choruses have brought it to another level :) Nice work!almost 4 years ago

Neal Schmitt Congrats on your prize. This is a moving, powerful piece. The changes you made, especially in your narration, were spot on, making this piece even stronger. Great music, nice editing and a strong showcase of your talents as a story teller. great job! Your mom did well.about 4 years ago

Neal Schmitt There are the right pieces, but the arrangement is off. The guitar parts, the pads - sound good. There are note issues. Write down the root chord form the guitar part and build from that - some of the parts are very random. this could be a very cool piece with some effort. Nice use of the stereo field! About halfway through, some of the sounds become less distinguisable.about 4 years ago

mschoenitz The guitar is very raw, I like that but it is over powering to the rest of the parts. It would have been cool to hear the drums change with the guitar part. Good Job!about 4 years ago
Neal Schmitt Hrm? I'm not a fan. Are you? The drum sounds are cool. The programming seems very haphazard and random. The guitar part is ok but is no gelling with the drums - I'm guessing the guitar part may have been recorded first? I'm not real sure with what's going on here. I say take another stab. If the guitar part was recorded first, and not to a click, your out of luck. If the drums were programmed and the guitar was layed on top, different story. Not a better one, just a different one.about 4 years ago

mschoenitz Groooovy. I like the panning effect. There may be a few timing issues. Overall, a pretty springy track. Good Job.about 4 years ago
music2kelly Nice banjo! I can see a guy sitting on his back porch in the spring time and just playing away :)about 4 years ago
Neal Schmitt The concept for this piece is nice but the pieces don't quite line up, rhythm wise or note-wise. I guess it has the back porch feel but too me it sounds a bit off. the tambourine panning is nice. There's some clipping around the 40 second mark. The sound choice is nice in this piece too, but execution is a bit off.about 4 years ago

mschoenitz Panning again- I love it! I especially like the end where the drum hits happen. Good Jobabout 4 years ago
Neal Schmitt Your sound choices are great. The pad and string sounds are appropriate. In the first half, there's three melodies, which are all simple and produce an uneasy feeling - very cool. When the string line gets busier, the piece looses a bit of its edge, sorta gets happy a bit. Darker intervals might have helped. Interesting take on this theme.about 4 years ago
