Born in the family that is adorned with the rich heritage of Sur, Laya, Taal over five generations, Apoorva Gokhale inherits melody, harmony and rhythm from her grandfather Late Pandit Gajananbuwa Joshi and her great-grandfather the Late Pandit Antubuwa Joshi, who himself was an eminent Durbar Gayak.
Her formal education started at an early age of 5 years under the tutelage of her grandfather the Late Pandit Gajananrao Joshi, who was a great vocalist and equally great violinist. Gajananrao was a unique musician to have mastered the Gayaki of three Gharanas namely, Gwalior, Jaipur and Agra.
Apoorva is a recipient of the prestigious Junior Fellowship in the field of Hindustani Vocal classical music given by The Ministry of culture, Government of India. Apoorva has given many performances in many prestigious concerts
